In this session Chris Cannon will demonstrate how to use a brand new online resource, Start It Up!, to help teach a variety of topics related to entrepreneurship. Start It Up! is an online startup simulator that takes the player through two years of starting a new company navigating funding, target markets, customer service, and unexpected events.
Participants in this workshop will learn tips for using Start It Up! as a classroom tool and get a chance to experience some of the lessons associated with the game. Three Econiful members will win a $50 gift card.
A 2012 Georgia Economics Teacher of the Year, Chris Cannon has been a teacher since 2002, teaching economics at Morrow High School in Clayton County, Sandy Creek High School, and McIntosh High Schools in Fayette County. Chris served as the Social Studies Program Specialist at the Georgia Department of Education from 2006-2008 and was also a Teacher in Residence at GCEE in 2015.
