John Kruggel started his career working with the Indiana Department of Education and the Indiana Council for Economic Education developing a K-12 economics course in China. In 2010, he was one of six teachers named an Armstrong Teacher Educator by Indiana University. John was the 2016 Indiana Economics Teacher of the Year. He graduated from the University of Delaware's MAEEE program in 2017. John was named honorary Secretary of State by the state of Indiana for his work increasing financial literacy throughout central Indiana.
Lauren Shifflett is the Associate Director at the James Madison University Center for Economic Education. Prior to joining the Center, she spent twelve years in early elementary education where she enjoyed prospering young minds as a classroom teacher. Lauren became nationally known as an elementary economic educator when she received the John Morton Award of the national Council for Economic Education in 2021. Her love for economics guides her lessons to prepare students for life.
