In this workshop, we describe a pedagogy that uses Bruce Springsteen songs to enhance student experiences with economics which is both practical and impactful. Attendees will learn a deep listening strategy and explore its benefits for student engagement with topics such as unemployment, economic uncertainty, and wealth gaps.
Connecting economics with pop culture supports critical thinking and mindful engagement and humanizes economic themes, making them more narrative and thus easier to relate to and understand. Three Econiful members will win a copy of Bruce Springsteen's autobiography Born to Run.
