Learn how to bring an escape room challenge to your classroom. This session walks you through a digital breakout centered on supply and demand that requires students to think critically and apply concepts learned in order to solve each lock.
Scaffolding strategies and resources for supporting students with different learning needs will be provided. Teachers will be given the game URL and detailed instructions for facilitating the game. Three Econiful members will win a $50 Amazon gift card.
Sarah now teaches high school economics, civics, and history in Wilmington, Delaware after teaching 8th-grade social studies for five years. Prior to becoming an educator, Sarah was a practicing attorney in Philadelphia. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston-Downtown, a Master of Arts in Economics and Entrepreneurship for Educators from the University of Delaware, a Juris Doctorate from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii, and is a current Ph.D. student.
Amy Krzyzanowski
Amy Krzyzanowski is in her thirteenth year of teaching at the Delaware Military Academy in Wilmington, Delaware. While her career in education began in a middle school social studies classroom, she has since found her niche teaching high school economics. Amy holds a BA in Economics from the University of Delaware (UD) and an MA in Secondary Education from Wilmington University. Most recently, she returned to UD to earn her MA in Economics Education and Entrepreneurship in 2021. She has a passion for integrating technology into the learning process and has created a set of economics themed digital escape rooms that she is excited to share.
